Dr. Nicole Klughers is the founder of Vis Wellness Center in Rocky Hill, CT. "Vis" is Latin and represents "the healing power," as a core focus of naturopathic medicine is to encourage the body's natural ability to heal itself. Vis Wellness Center focuses on disease prevention, individualized care and restoration of optimal health by encouraging the inherent self-healing processes that exist within us all. Dr. Nicole promotes wellness through lifestyle modifications, personalized nutrition, natural therapies and functional testing.

Nicole Klughers, ND, PharmD, MSAc, is a licensed naturopathic physician, acupuncture specialist, community health educator, and former pharmacist. Her passion for healthcare began early, inspired by her work as a pharmacy assistant at age 14. She went on to earn her Doctorate in Pharmacy from St. John’s University College of Pharmacy, completing her studies in both New York and Italy.

Motivated by a desire to go beyond the limitations of conventional medicine, Dr. Nicole was drawn to the integrative, sustainable, and holistic approach of naturopathic care. Driven to help others uncover the root causes of their health concerns, she enrolled at the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine, where she earned a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine and a Master of Science in Acupuncture—graduating summa cum laude (with highest honors) in both programs.

Passionate about naturopathic philosophy, lifelong learning, and community engagement, Dr. Nicole has played a leading role in curating and directing several inspirational and educational conferences. As Chair of Events, she helped shape the 11th Annual Naturopathic Gathering (2013) and the CNPA Annual Conferences (2022–2025), which brought together naturopathic doctors, experts, and students from across North America. Dr. Nicole was recognized for her professionalism and commitment to patient-care as the recipient of the Clinical Excellence award as well the All-Around Excellence award from the University of Bridgeport College of Naturopathic Medicine.

Driven to create a healthier, more conscious, and joyful world, Dr. Nicole founded Vis Wellness Center in Rocky Hill, CT—an accredited business with the Better Business Bureau. There, she provides comprehensive naturopathic care and hosts holistic events. Embracing the role of “Doctor as Teacher,” she regularly leads wellness programs, health fairs, and cooking workshops to educate and empower the community.

Dr. Nicole advocates for naturopathic medicine on both state and national levels, including annual "DCFLI" legislative initiatives at Capitol Hill. She serves as Vice President and Events Committee Chair of the Connecticut Naturopathic Physicians Association and is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians, New York Association of Naturopathic Physicians, American Apitherapy Society, Connecticut Holistic Chamber of Commerce and Holistic Community Professionals.

Dr. Nicole has been honored as Connecticut’s Top 10 Best Naturopathic Doctor every year from 2018 to 2024 and her practice recognized as one of the Best Holistic Weight Loss Centers by Natural Nutmeg’s 10BEST Readers’ Choice Awards.

Dr. Nicole's clinical training consists of a wide range of care settings throughout the U.S. including: private practice, inpatient hospital, outpatient hospital, community clinic, inpatient psychiatric institution, and substance abuse treatment facility. She has trained under esteemed leaders of both the naturopathic and pharmacy professions with focus on Endocrinology, Geriatrics, Addiction Medicine, Mental Health, Gynecology, Integrative Oncology, Traditional Chinese Medicine and Pediatrics.

Dr. Nicole is deeply committed to global health and humanitarian service, providing medical care in underserved regions around the world. She has participated in medical missions to Italy, Jamaica, Guatemala, and Ecuador, advocating for sustainable healthcare solutions in communities with limited access.

Based in Connecticut, she frequently travels to experience diverse cultures and explore traditional healing practices. Deeply passionate about health, happiness, and natural living, she finds joy in movement and fitness—whether through yoga, hiking, swimming, biking, or outdoor adventures. She also enjoys preparing wholesome meals with loved ones, learning about beekeeping and apitherapy, and attending live music.
